Mujin’s moon jars are formed through the traditional eopdaji technique—joining two separately thrown hemispheres into one whole. Originally developed to overcome the physical limits of shaping large vessels on the wheel, this method allows for a fuller, more balanced form while preserving traces of the maker’s hand. The subtle asymmetry where the two halves meet embodies the quiet beauty of imperfection, a hallmark of Korean aesthetics. In Mujin’s work, this process becomes not only a technical choice but a way of breathing warmth and human presence into the timeless silhouette of the moon jar.

This moon jar is one of Mujin’s smaller works—rarely made and specially released for Studio Ko for the holiday season.
