Moon Jars
First created during Korea's Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries, moon jars have become one of the most iconic forms in Korean ceramics. Made by joining two separately thrown hemispheres, their subtle asymmetry and generous proportions reflect a uniquely Korean appreciation for naturalness, humility, and imperfection. Beyond their historical significance, moon jars have come to symbolize the spirit of Korean ceramic culture itself—quiet, contemplative, and deeply human.
